The World Bank Graduate Scholarship application is for intelligent students from one of the select developing nations who possess relevant professional experience, and skills and have actively contributed to their countries’ developmental plans. The program will award applicants who seek admission to study master’s degree programs that relate to development fields.
This scholarship will fully sponsor 53 scholars to study Master’s Programs across 27 high-standard universities in the U.S., Europe, Oceania, Japan, and Africa. These programs cover critical areas such as economic policy management, infrastructure management, and tax policy.
Applicant must note that the scholarship is strictly for those who have been admitted to study master’s degree at any of the accredited universities in the selected countries/region. The Scholarship Details

- The Scholarship Sponsor: World Bank and Japan Government.
- Institution: Any university from the 27 accredited institutions. (Must be from the selected countries/regions).
- Programs: Master’s degree program (MS.c).
- Areas of Study: Any developmental-related field such as:

- Enrollment Deadline Dates: The application process is divided into 2 sets:

The Benefits of the World Bank Graduate Scholarship
The scholarship program will cover the following areas:
- Tuition fees: The scholarship will pay your tuition fees for the duration of your program.
- Stipend: A monthly living allowance will be given to you to cover your accommodations, food, and books. etc.
- Travel: All round-trip airfare expenses (Economic class) from your home to the scholarship country to and fro. You will also receive a $600 travel allowance.
- Health: Health insurance for your health maintenance.
Eligibility Criteria for the World Bank Graduate Scholarship

- The applicant country must be a national of a World Bank member developing country on this list;
- Must not be a citizen or hold dual citizenship of any developed country.
- You must have a good health status.
- Hold a 3-year-old bachelor’s degree or any equivalent before the Application Deadline date.
- Be a worker or an employee in development-related work in a full-time payment position at the time of submitting your scholarship application.
- You must have received payment for up to 3 years working in development-related employment since earning a bachelor’s degree. (This must be up to 6 years from the date of the application deadline).

- A country that is on the list of Fragile and Conflict States featured in Annex 3 of the Application Guidelines will take into consideration the limited employment opportunities in those countries.
- You must be admitted to study a master’s program for the upcoming academic year outside your country or country of residence (The program must be one of the selected master’s programs).
- You must not be in any relation with the Executive Director, worker, or staff of any type of appointment of the World Bank Group.
- Any applicant who previously declined or has received but did not graduate with this award is not eligible.
- Any candidate who is holding any other kind of scholarship program is not eligible to apply.
